CCBT Cork maintains strong links with the highly regarded BABCP Accredited CBT training programme in University College Cork & as such we are pleased to welcome Caitriona Hogan  as a trainee with the centre from January 2020.

By way of introduction, the following is a summary of Caitriona’s qualifications and experience;

I completed a Bachelor of Education in Mary Immaculate College (graduated in 2000) and worked for a number of years as a primary teacher in Cork City.

I was awarded a Higher Diploma in Applied Psychology in UCC ( 2 year programme) followed by a Masters in Educational Psychology in University of Bristol ( 1 year programme) graduating in 2005.

Following this I worked in Wigan Council UK for a few years as a Educational Psychologist in mainstream schools. I then took up a position as an Educational Psychologist in the Brothers of Charity Services in Cork which provides a service to children and adults with intellectual disability. I worked in this position for a few years before joining NEPS (National Educational Psychology Service) in 2011.

I have worked as an educational psychologist with NEPS since 2011 with my main brief being to provide an educational psychological service to Department of Education mainstream schools.

Throughout my training and in my current role I am keenly interested in evidence based intervention based working particularly in the area of mental health. With the ever increasingly incidences of mental health difficulties I am thrilled to be studying CBT in UCC and am excited to work with adults and adolescents in implementing my learning of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
